Infant Development Program (IDP)

Regional Centers (RC) provide California’s Early Start Program which the Children’s Therapy Center (CTC) often refers to as Infant Development Program (IDP). CTC is vendored (a service with which the RC has worked out reimbursements for services) with the Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) and sometimes serves children from North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) as a “guest vendor” or funded by their insurance. For more information on eligibility and services check out this from Warmline’s Early Start Resource Guide.

Early Start is for children under 3 and must be referred before 34 months; for most families, this will be the only free opportunity for assessment that isn’t required to report a diagnosis to medical or schools. After 3 years of age, Regional Centers will require a diagnosis to provide service.

Eligibility criteria for an Individualized Service Plan (IFSP), <3 years-old, 25% delay affecting the child’s life (to be eligible for an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) there must be a 93% delay in a developmental area affecting the child’s ability to learn and Fine Motor cannot be the primary area of need). More eligibility info can be found at that Warmline link.
